Artist's Comments

Okay. So this sketch was sitting in my scraps for a while, and served a specific purpose for me personally.
Over the past few months, I've been using this sketch to figure ot how I want to ink and color my comic that I want to start working on and getting online. I've been trying to find something that can get done quickly, but still have a lot of energy and movement, and be loose but that looks complete, and uses color but minimally.

Happy to say that I've found that method, and the result is what you see here. I think that the drawings looking like this would make a pretty comic (for me at least) and once again, it's easily managable to continue for pages and pages without me feeling horribly overworked or stressed.

Your opinion? Would the method for this look presentable in comic panels/illustrations? I hope so, I rather like it, but if you don't think so then please say so and why, so i have an idea of what to avoid and keep :)

And sorry about so much Noah. I promise the next few I upload won't be of him.

I love it. It's modern yet has that rustic tone to it. Which appeals to me and probably many other future readers. But at the same time it's clean and colorful, a good compliment. Combine the two and you've got a unique style on your hands.

>> Sorry for rambling there but I like it.

This? Would make a sweet comic style.
There is a very warm, loose, and dreamy feeling to it, something that is really rare in comics, I think. I am especially fond of those pencil marks in his pants that you left showing. Layers are awesome.

I don't know much about comics except those I'm reading myself, but I like it and I'd read a comic like that. And it's good that you found a method that won't stress you, that's a very important factor as well, I think. I also like the fact that the lines aren't completely clear, it looks better that way.

Its hard to say "would it be good" until you put it with a background or whatever else you'd have it apart of as a composition. As it is- its nice, might want to thin out some of the inner lines a bit and experiment, but hell if its fast, try making a test comic page and see how it looks, then maybe I could offer you a bit more.

I think it'd be a very good style to see in a comic, not only because of the things that the others have already said, but it is also good (imo) because there is enough detail that you can see/understand things easily, but at the same time it's not an overload
(some comics bother me because of waaayyy too much detail being shoved into a small panel, it hurts the eyes after a while)

I'd definitely love to see a comic like this. I'd assume since it's online you won't be charging for it, and if it's something you'll be doing for free on your own time than you definitely need to be comfortable with it. I like how in his pants you can still see some of the sketch lines. That's my favorite part.

There'll never be such thing as "too much" Noah for me :D
Besides, I really like this technique. That "not so clean" look would probably suit your story. Can't wait to actually read it by the way.

I like it. I think it looks distinct and stylish, while not piggy-backing on any other comic style.
I approve.

I am working on test pages to still figure out how to do backgrounds without things getting to loud, so I'll be sure to get your advice on that once it's done. Thanks so much for your suggestions :)
